A Clean Slate

This post is inspired by:

“Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like”.

Greetings and happy (almost) summertime! If you’re a college kid, you understand why I haven’t been writing, and if you’re not a college kid I’m sure you can figure it out. Finals is the game, and I’ve won.

Another year as gone by, and it’s still unreal to me how fast time goes by, but that can be another post in itself. The end of the semester is here, which involves lots of studying, packing and goodbyes. While some are sad to leave school and their friends, I cannot be more excited for the break and all the wonderful things that come with it. This will give me a clean slate with those I haven’t seen in a while, give my mind a break, and focus on having the best summer yet.

Today while I was packing and cleaning my room, my mind also cleaned itself out a little bit which was exactly what I needed. Today was a day to get rid of things that I’ve been thinking about for too long, to tie up loose ends, and cut the ones I no longer need. This is a hard thing to do because you are forced to reevaluate things, people, and even clothes that are important to you, and that you want to keep around for another four months. Another clean slate.

As I sit here thinking about what the next four months have in store for me, nothing comes to mind, simply because I’m just waiting to see what the world has in store for me. While I never ever say this, this year I’m taking a new approach of walking in blindly, which is why I chose the quote I chose. This is particularly hard for me, but I have come to realize that things happen, people walk in and out, and you can never be prepared for some things.

Some times you just have to take the hit.
