New York Minute

This post is inspired by:

“Sometimes I feel that life is passing me by, not slowly either, but with ropes of steam and spark-spattered wheels and a hoarse roar of power or terror.  It’s passing, yet I’m the one who’s doing all the moving”.

Hello friends, and happy almost fall! I cannot believe it, summer is over, and school is starting soon. While I am jumping for joy about heading back to school, seeing my friends, and getting back into a regular (and busy) routine, I am sad to see the summer come to an end. There is something that is so upsetting about packing up belongings, even though it seems like I just unpacked them, but in reality that was almost 4 months ago that I did that. That is why I dedicated this post to time.

Time is a funny thing, it always goes by too slow when you need it to speed up, and too fast when you want it to slow down. In this instance, I’m talking about the second time. I’ve noticed this phenomenon more and more as I grow up, and start doing adult things. Sadly, I’d never thought that day would come.. I kinda hoped I’d be riding barbie jeep in my driveway forever like I did as a kid.

This semester will be a tough one for me on a number of different levels, but there is something truly magical about the challenge, but more importantly overcoming it. With so many challenges life throws at the individual, one has to wonder at some point, what keeps them going? For me, it’s easy: my friends, family, and the determination that somewhere out there, there’s something better for me than what I’m doing right now. Even if that isn’t necessarily true, that there is something better out there, it’s important to keep striving.

So while this post, and summer is coming to a close, because ironically enough, time slipped away from me and my laptop is dying, I would like to take this moment to thank those who have challenged me, and kept my determination rate at a constant, as well as those who have helped me escape the sense of time for the summer.
